THE HERITAGE FIXIT FUND

We are seeking to raise $1 million that will be used to strategically repair and upgrade our facility so we can remain debt-free.

We are asking Heritage attendees to prayerfully consider pledging to the Heritage FIXIT Fund over the next year. We realize that some individuals and families will be able to give more than others. No gift is too small.

Through financial contributions, volunteering, and prayer – our goal is to have 100% participation in this effort.

FAQs

Updated Nov 1

What happens if we raise more than our goal of $1 million?

There is plenty to be done, the most critical were chosen first. If excess funds are raised, additional needs will be assessed and a plan will be developed moving forward.

Since we paid off our debt a year early, what are we doing with the funds that were going to our mortgage?

We have allocated those funds back into our general operating fund to help us weather any funding shortfalls.

How can volunteers assist with these efforts?

Write on your steps card, or send an email letting us that you would be interested in volunteering, specific opportunities will be shared as they come up.

How long is the campaign running?

The campaign will be discussed and promoted for 6 weeks starting in October, pledges need made by Nov 18, 2018 and then collected by November 2019.

Is new carpet the best flooring solution for the auditorium?

We have had preliminary recommendations from flooring contractors about the best surfaces for large, heavily-trafficked areas, and commercial-grade carpet tiles appear to be the best solution. There are also issues like acoustics that need to be considered. We have not made a definitive decision on the new flooring and will continue to keep everyone updated as we get closer to our final selection.

Have we considered church-wide fundraising events, such as garage sales?

While we may opt for some church-wide events to raise funds in the future, our hope is that entrepreneurial ideas like this happen at the community life group or family level. There are a lot of logistical efforts required for church-wide events, as well as some liability and other issues that can make something like a church-wide garage sale challenging.

Who is driving this effort?

A team comprised of elders, HCC Operations and Facility staff, and volunteer members were appointed to help structure the campaign and communicate it to Heritage. A general contractor will be hired to manage the exterior project of the building. Experienced volunteer leaders, along with staff, will manage other projects within the scope.
