DAY SEVEN – APR 13
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known upon earth, your saving power among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the people with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you (Psalm 67:1-5).
Psalm 67 is a strong call to the nations and peoples to praise God. Clearly God’s particular blessing has more than a narrow effect. God’s action includes but reaches beyond a chosen people.
We are quick to acknowledge that God can guide individuals through things such as circumstances, signs, dreams, visions, and angels, but perhaps it is quite something else to consider God may be able to lead a whole people or “guide the nations upon earth.”
Is it hard for you to think of God leading an entire group or nation? If so, why? How do you think God might be guiding our church? Our nation? If God can guide the nations, how does this impact our vision about how God can guide you in the greatest concerns of your life?
