46:10 Ministry – Be Still and Know

46:10 Ministry is a new ministry to cultivate stillness to increase awareness of God’s presence in our lives.

 

The name is rooted in Psalm 46:10, in which God reminds us to “be still and know that I am God.” We want to become more aware of God in the present moment and position ourselves and others to experience Him in deeper ways.

 

This ministry is an expansion of the Transformational Healing and Healing Care Groups that have existed for years at Heritage. Now, 46:10 Ministry offers additional resources, support, and community within the transformative space.

HCG – Healing Care Groups (Formerly called Transformational Healing Groups)

 

New group applications are open from October 1 – November 9 for Winter 2024 groups.
In these 13-week groups, we find how to position ourselves for God to do a transforming work of healing that impacts our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Consider applying for an HCG through the Transformational Healing Ministry below.

In an HCG, we open ourselves to the Lord, and bring him our pains and wounds in the presence of a loving and safe small group community of no more than six participants and three trained leaders.

There is a bit of a process to get involved in an HCG. We hope you’ll see by all these steps that we’re serious about helping you along your healing journey.

Steps in the HCG Process
  • Complete the HCG Application below by November 9. You can turn it in after this date but since groups fill quickly, we will give your application first consideration if you turn it in on time. At the beginning of the application is a Participant’s Rights and Responsibilities form. Please read and indicate that you agree with it before proceeding with the rest of the application.
  • When you submit your online application, you should immediately receive an email confirmation. In the email confirmation, you’ll be asked to contact Sally Buckles to set up a 30-45 minute Getting to Know You Meeting. This meeting happens with one or two of our HCG leaders.
  • This will enable us to get to know you better and make sure a Healing Care Group is a good fit for you.
  • If you prefer to mail or drop off your application*, we will contact you by email after receiving it to set up a time for your meeting.
  • For this meeting, please bring an initial payment of $25 (checks made payable to Heritage Christian Church). This covers the cost of a book you will be given at that time. If you are placed in a group the balance of $125 is due at your first meeting.
  • After our Getting To Know You meeting, the Transformational Healing Ministry Team will prayerfully consider your participation and an HCG Leader will contact you to discuss the next step in your journey, which may be an HCG or other healing opportunities offered at Heritage.
  • If you are currently seeing a professional mental health provider (such as a psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, or therapist), you will need to have him/her fill out the Mental Health Care Provider Recommendation* and return it to Sally Buckles at 7413 Maxtown Rd. Westerville, OH 43082 or transformationalhealing@heritagecc.org.

Facts about HCG
  • Your HGC starts with an orientation meeting, followed by 12 weekly sessions. Each session is 3 hours in length. Please plan to attend all sessions, since your faithful attendance is integral to your healing journey and to develop and maintain the community and safety of your small group.
  • Your HCG is gender–specific, that is, men lead men’s groups and women lead women’s groups.
  • Your HCG leaders understand this healing journey as each has participated in an HCG. They have completed required training to lead HCGs through courses at Ashland Theological Seminary or Healing Care Ministries. Many also receive ongoing training by attending various seminars addressing the healing journey.
  • Your HCG sessions include spiritual, teaching, and experiential components. There are also weekly reading, journaling, and homework assignments.
  • Your cost to participate in a HCG is $150. This fee covers the cost of all printed materials and the book you will receive at your scheduled Getting to Know You meeting.
